F_Automotive Japan has undergone a Digital Factory Transformation with the help of a web application called Log Base. This application consolidates parts, packaging, transport, and suppliers information, which the Supply Manager can use to plan inbound and in-plant logistics. In the past, the factory relied on hard copies and multiple Excel files for their day-to-day transactions, which proved cumbersome and inefficient. Log Base has helped streamline the process, making it easier to track crucial information. Here are some of the initial phases of this transformation.

I always adhere to a specific methodology when working on projects. Kindly review my process outlined here to ensure my portfolio is not repetitive.

Dashboard screen grab

The image displayed on the screen is the Factory Dashboard at F-Automotive. When visiting the manufacturing unit, you will observe that this design was also featured in a Japanese newspaper - a proud moment for me. This dashboard provides a real-time overview of production for the day and highlights any issues across the manufacturing lines.

One significant aspect of the project was the F-Automotive color palette, which consisted of black, red, and white. Although some applications may have looked like wireframes, it was crucial to include white as it holds significant cultural value in Japan. Moreover, the project necessitated visual representations for all interactions, which resulted in a considerable amount of time being dedicated to designing unique icons that played a vital role in multiple applications within the UI.
